Luiso Ponce is a visual artist whose works explore the interaction between human history, utopian and dystopian visions of the future, and the potentialities of humanity. His artistic vision is motivated by the tensions and possibilities in the context of capitalism, technology and the pass of time.
Ponce's paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era in history while questioning the validity of the past and presenting alternative visions of the future. Through materials that represent the contemporary era, such as sublimation painting, worn-out metal and automotive paint, plastic, and industrial oil, he explores his relationship with the contemporary human experience, depicting emotions and frictions between individuals and societies throughout history.
